Spring!

No more of this: (not that we have had much snow...)
Instead we get this:
This is what I've been waiting for all winter long.  I borrowed this picture from here.  I guess we are supposed to site things like that... anyway.... I have been waiting to see the grounds people out planting and putting pretty dark dirt to cover the gross planters everywhere.  Soon the trees will blossom and things will be green again.  Today the temperature reached 70 degrees.  Which means several things:
-two weeks and two days left of classes
-finals end on April 18th
-we can go swimming, and on walks, and sit outside, and walk to school in the not freezing temperatures, and all sorts of other great stuff.

Isn't campus beautiful when everything is alive?

Happy Pi Day

I have always enjoyed pi day.  I remember in my 7th grade math class everyone had to bring something in the shape of a circle to share with the class. Some people brought donuts.  One kid brought a pizza.  This quickly became a favorite holiday.  Unfortunately the government doesn't recognize this as anything significant or else we might have the entire day off to celebrate by eating pizza and singing the pi song. That's right, there is a song.  Pi equals... 3.14159265358. So cool.

Summer Vacation

We are officially headed to New York, Baltimore and DC in August!  Justin and Erin live in the balt, so we'll get to see them, Bennett and the new baby.  We are SO so so SOOOO excited.

Mandy, I am already anxious to talk to you about a few good places to eat in New York!  Be thinking of a good pizza place.  Other suggestions are welcome from anyone else who may read this.  Though you may be few.

So even though I think the video might be a little.... cheesy? ya, cheesy. They are awesome.  I am a huge fan of the electric cello.
And this one is pretty sweet. Except for John's weird yelp thing. Just ignore that.

A Book of Mormon Story

Watch it, I dare you! It's great.

February...

Last week and this week have been veeeeeerrryy busy! Let me tell you why.

Let’s start with Riley’s birthday!  We had the entire Wilson clan (minus J&E&B—sorry guys!) over for dinner.  It was so fun to have everyone over, despite how tired everyone was.

Then on Sunday I spoke in church.  It was good and I am hoping I don’t have to do that again for several years….

Monday was President’s day but I don’t remember doing anything fun.  Oh wait! Merrill and LouJean took us out to dinner for Riley’s birthday

Tuesday we found out that Grandpa Schramm had cancer.  He was admitted the hospital to rehydrate.

Wednesday, Riley and I visited Grandpa in the hospital and spent some time with LouJean.

Thursday was Copsicus!  We spent the day studying for exams. Riley took his big Econ test that day!  He hasn’t gotten his score back, but I bet it went well!

Friday Grandpa was moved home.  We went to visit him and spent a lot of time with family.

Saturday, Riley and I bought a LOT of donuts.  Thankfully we didn’t eat too many.  I made an apple pie and Riley made a smoothie (if you can call it that) with strawberries, lime and ice.   Then we went to the temple where I got to do my Great Grandma Jean (Eugenia)’s temple work.  I am named after her and it was a really neat experience!  Afterwards my parents, and K&J came over for pie and Riley opened a few presents.   We had tickets to the BYU game but Riley and I bailed so we could go to Payson to visit with Grandpa.  Justin had flown into town that day and we got to hang with him and everyone else.  Then we rushed back for Stake Conference where we learned a lot of great stuff!!

Sunday we went to Stake conference and then back down to Payson.  Grandpa wasn’t doing so great. I am so glad that we got to spend some time with him.

Monday we went back to school. Riley Serafine graciously helped me study for 3 hours!  What a champ.  Then we found out that Grandpa had passed away.  Riley and I are so grateful for the plan of salvation.  We know Grandpa is so happy to be with his wives and other family members.   Grandpa is one more person I look forward to meeting again after this life!

Tuesday, I took my Adolescent Development test.  100 multiple choice and 5 essays later I nearly fainted as I was leaving!  It went well though, so that’s a relief!

Today is the 29th!  Riley and I decided that today should be skipped all together.  Tomorrow should be Wednesday and today just doesn’t count!  We could sleep in and do something fun.  Then tomorrow would be March 1st as usual.  Wouldn’t that be nice.  I guess though, that all the people with Birthdays and anniversaries would never get to celebrate.

Hope you are all enjoying this wintery weather (finally) and hope it doesn’t last long!

Despite the busy schedule Riley and I have this semester, we found the time to go to st. George and spend some time with my family. We woke up early Saturday morning and I drove us to cedar city so that Riley could try and study for the gre. I am not sure how much he got done between singing, worrying about the check engine light and the many cows to look at. I am not one for driving long distances so Riley graciously took over in Cedar City. We made it the aunt Judys beautiful condo around 10. We rushed in and were greeted by the whole family!- minus katelyn, which would have been a real shocker. Brad, Mandy, Jane, Annie, Claire, Matt, Stacy, Graham, Kelli, Jake, riley s. and my parents were all there! It really was such a treat. We spent the day playing hard. We went to the park, ate lunch, played tennis, went shopping, ate pizza and played some more. There is nothing I love more than spending time with my siblings and darling nieces/nephew. Jane, Annie, Riley and I formed a team called the "non stink" team. This involved spraying other people with stink while being resistant to any smell they might try to spray on us. Jane and I also spent some quality time flipping boogers-not as grotesque as it sounds! We enjoyed watching Matt and Jane do the monkey dance, the pillow dance, and a fun sleeping show. You can see it too!  If you listen closely you can hear them say, "pillow dance, pillow dance, pillow dance" over and over. Very clever.
*** I couldn't get the video on... I'll try again another time. But just wait, it's awesome.

On Sunday we woke up and got ready for church.  Then at eleven we had the big event... Claire's blessing! It was lovely.  She is the best baby I've ever seen. Didn't hear her cry once! So good.  We got to enjoy more family for a couple hours before coming home.  I will admit though, that I was so sad to leave everyone.  I really just love being with my family.  Riley can attest that there were almost tears several times.  And full on tears a couple of times too.  It's just so sad.  Luckily we have amazing technology like cameras, skype and email that keep us in touch with each other.  And now, the pictures!!

Mom and baby Claire. Isn't she cute?

Graham is so fun. Still can't believe he is walking!

This was at our team spot.

Do I see modeling in Graham's future? Perhaps.

I really don't remember doing this. But Kelli is holding Claire. Cute.

That's her chocolate covered strawberry next to her.

Jane had to shield her eyes from the sun. I don't blame her. The sun was so hot! (which by the way, I miss very much)

Oh! And I LOVE plateaus. I think they are the cutest thing!

This is what I created on the ipad. Not bad, eh?
